Our resident buddy bike collector, who’s also a giant human being, Jeff Schmidt just finished this lovely Osell for himself. We’ve featured a few of his bikes before, including his Wicked Fat Chance.
This is a locally built frameset by Terry Osell, who was/is one of the longtime characters in the MPLS frame building scene. He built standard bikes throughout the 80’s, until switching almost entirely to recumbents in the late 90’s. He was also one of the catalysts in Surly developing the Pugsley, though I’m not quite sure of how that story really goes. (I’ll have to do some digging and perhaps give you a feature on that topic in the future.)
Let’s get to it and check out this mid 80’s beauty. Make sure to pay special attention to the super rad Blackburn branding.
