Chris King Stack Heights
Thought maybe this might be helpful to some.
Here are the different cup heights of Chris King headsets through the generations. This is good info when building a vintage bike and working with an already cut steerer. Specifically if it’s cut short.
The taller stack is known as “Regular” Stack, the short as “Short” stack and in the late 90’s came the modern current stack which is known as “New” stack.
Cup Heights
12.75mm Regular
11.5mm New
9.5mm Short
And a side by side of the older style of crown race vs. the new. The older style has the deeper lip.
