Hodag Country Ramble

September 9-11th The 1st Annual Hodag Country Ramble
Two nights of swimming, camping, community, riding and revelry on our family's property outside of Rhinelander, Wisconsin in the heart of the beautiful Northwoods.

This is the land where I was born and raised and I'm incredibly excited to share it with my far flung cycling friends both old and new. Soaring trees, rolling hills, and beautiful lakes await you.

Route: A mix of two track, gravel, and pavement - 26, 50, 85 mile options. A gravel bike or hardtail mtb will work great. I'd recommend a minimum tire size of 38c.

Ride fast or take it slow, all options are valid. Route will wind its way through National Forest Land, private logging acreage, quiet pavement, and high quality gravel. There are convenience stores on all routes except the 25 mile and a stocked mid-ride rest stop on the long loop.

Schedule:
Friday: Arrive, Bandit Cross, Riders Meeting - Gates open at Noon
Saturday: 9:00am Ride, 7pm Celebration - DJ's, dancing, bonfire
Sunday: Depart - please be packed up by 1pm

Camping space on site will be limited to 130 people but there are tons of campsites, hotels and resorts in the area. Due to space concerns only registered participants will be allowed to camp on site, if you wish to camp with non-registered folks please choose the without camping category and make your own arrangements. A guide to local campsites and accommodations will be listed on the event web page. Which will be up on www.bikejerks.com

On Site Camping: You will be responsible for providing all of your meals and water, though we're working on getting some on-site food service. The best bet is to be as self sufficient as possible. We will provide porta potty's and hand washing stations and hopefully water stations as well. There is a beautiful lake an easy walk from the property, or very short ride for swimming, washing, and pumping water. The water is tannic, but is very clean and great for swimming.

There will be spaces for both vehicle and tent camping, as space is limited we highly encourage carpooling if possible. There will be a section of camping set aside for sober / quiet camping. No drinking or partying in this area.

We ask that you leave your dogs at home for on site camping. Don't worry, there will be plenty of our family dogs around to get your daily dose of puppy love. If you need to bring your pet, please select the off-site camping option or speak with me first.

This land is incredibly important to my father, the caretaker,  and we're very excited to share its magic with you. We humbly request that you treat the land with care and respect, please do not litter, or damage the trees. If you're planning on using a hammock, please make sure the trees you sling are at least 8" in diameter.
